Popularly known as Guaco, Mikaniaglomerata is a plant originally from South America used by the native indigenous peoples as an antidote for snake venom. It grows in mild climates, such as the south and the southeast of Brazil, in forests and grasslands, but is well adapted to domestic cultivation. It has various applications, but its main characteristic is the expectorant properties of its leaves, making it one of the most used herbal medicines used in the country.1
